Nomura’s Olympic Uchimata-Seoi Combo
We’ve previously seen how Nomura does his uchimata, morote-seoi-nage-styleSometimes, when his opponent refuses to let him pull his head down, Nomura switches to standing morote-seoi-nage instead. This version of morote-seoi involves a “floating elbow”.

Tori and uke are in a kenka-yotsu situation.

Tori swings his left leg backwards to prepare to do uchimata.

Tori initiates uchimata, with the aim of pulling uke’s head down.

Uke refuses to be bent over and fights to stand upright.

Tori switches to seoi-nage instead. Notice how tori’s elbow is coming out.

With a floating elbow, tori does morote-seoi-nage instead.
