World Ranking Leader U78kg Anna-Monta Olek

German judoka Anna-Monta Olek has emerged as one of the most consistent performers in the U78kg division and currently leads the IJF World Ranking. Her rise to the top has been built on steady results, strong tournament victories and an impressive ability to reach the podium across the World Judo Tour.

One of the highlights of her career came at the 2025 World Championships in Budapest, where Olek captured a silver medal and confirmed her position among the world’s elite. Yet her success did not come overnight. Earlier in her career she won both the Junior World title and the Junior European Championship in 2021, marking her as one of Germany’s most promising talents.

Since moving fully into the senior ranks, Olek has continued to collect major victories. She won the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi in 2024 and added Grand Prix titles in Upper Austria and Portugal the same year. Earlier successes included Grand Prix victories in Dushanbe in 2022 and 2023.

Her medal run continued with victories at the Grand Slam in Baku in 2025 and the FISU Universiade in Essen. Podium finishes at the Paris Grand Slam in 2026 and the Grand Slam in Tashkent further demonstrated her consistency.

With consecutive podium finishes and growing confidence, Anna-Monta Olek has firmly established herself as the current world ranking leader at U78kg.
