Diyora Keldirova learned the Huizinga roll

Diyora Keldiyorova uses Huizinga Roll into strangle

Usually a Huizinga Roll ends up in an osaekomi but it can also result in an ashi-gatame of sorts where tori’s legs are used to armlock uke. But in this highly unusual sequence, Diyora Keldiyorova (UZB) ends up with a strangle.

She rolls her opponent three times in an attempt to get the hold-down but after the third time, she switches to a strangle. And it worked!
Here’s the breakdown:

This is Roll No. 3, Keldiyorova’s third attempt to get the Huizinga Roll to work.

When her opponent rolls out yet again, this time Keldiyorova goes for the choke. Notice Keldiyorova’s right hand is going for uke’s lapel.

As uke rolls over onto her front, Keldiyorova secures the lapel grip for the choke.

Once uke is completely on her front, Keldiyorova is well-poised to do a koshi-jime.
