World Ranking Leader U57kg Eteri Liparteliani

Eteri Liparteliani has risen to the top of the U57kg division and finished 2025 as the leader of the IJF World Ranking. The Georgian judoka combines speed, strong gripping and tactical awareness, making her one of the most consistent athletes on the international circuit.

Liparteliani’s success began in the junior ranks where she quickly established herself as one of Georgia’s most promising talents. She won gold at the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2015 and later captured the junior world title in 2019. In the same year she also became European U23 champion, confirming her potential for senior success.

Her transition to the elite level proved equally impressive. Liparteliani collected numerous medals on the IJF World Tour, including several podium finishes at Grand Slam tournaments.

At the Olympic Games she reached the brink of the podium twice, finishing fifth in both Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. Her breakthrough on the global stage came in 2025 when she became world champion in Budapest, the biggest achievement of her career.

That same season she won the Grand Slam in Tbilisi and added a silver medal at the European Championships. She won the European title in the end, also in Tbilisi but in 2026. She also claimed bronze medals at the European Championships in 2022 and 2024. She also contributed to Georgia’s victory in the World Mixed Team event.

With more than a dozen World Tour and Grand Slam medals to her name, Liparteliani’s consistent results propelled her to the top of the world ranking by the end of 2025 and beyond.
